It has been along time since I blogged last and a long time since I have had two hands free longer than maybe 10minutes at a time. Things at the De Koster house are getting better. Titus was born December 2, 2009, he had his first heart surgery December 4 and things went great we were in the hospital until December 13. Before we were able to com home there were alot of things that we had to learn for taking care of Titus and making him as comfortable as possible, There was alot more restrictions than what we were told at our cardiologist in Sioux Falls, they had to teach us how to us the "car bed" (not car seat) we were told not to use the swing, bouncy seat, boppy, this brought on great frustration for me because we were told these things were not going to be an issue, and now they are, they said there is only one thing that he could be in other than his bed or our arms, so we searched all of Omaha one friday night for this glider come to find that the Walmart in Sioux Center had it :)
Fast forwarding a bit, we got home and then it was Christmas, and we got dumped on with a ton of snow that forced us to stay home, and we were snowed in with nearly my whole family at our house :) and YES it was a great time, we enjoyed Christmas day here with My whole family, it truely was a blessing, we were even able to go a little ways down the street a few blocks to Mikes family, the snow truely was a blessing in disquise :).
That week was rough on Titus and myself, the hospital told us along with two shots daily, we had to weigh him everyday, that put alot of stress on me, I have now clue how much a 6lb baby is suppose to gain everyday. so i was feeling he wasnt eating enough. But things are now way better. We went to the Doctor this past wednesday and he was very pleased with how things were, Titus weighs 8lbs 3oz, and we were given the ok to use the swing, bouncy and boppy, he told us to treat him like a "normal" baby, since that appointmet Titus has been able to go in the swing which he likes, he naps on the boppy and the last three nights he has slept 5hours before waking up, and is eating great. I think we are finally getting on a schedual.
The doctor is also thinking that Titus' next surgery will be the end of February.
Malachi~
Malachi Loves Titus, he loves to give him kisses, push him in the swing :) and just help push the pipe in his mouth. Malachi loves to talk and talks alot, he even says Titus' name (teetee). Malachi is great and is rapidly growing into the terrible 2's but we love to see all the things he is discovering, His favorate things to do are to "go down" as he would say and watch a movie "play", and Sit and read.
My prayer today is for all of the new moms that are going crazy this winter being stuck at home.
Lord please be with all the moms and children that are going through cabin fever this season, be with them as their children explore the house in places they shouldnt because there is nowhere else to go, please be help us to have patients. please be with the moms and dads that are home caring for their sick children back to health. Lord help us to even in the bitter cold weather be greatful for all of the blessing you gave us including the warm homes and hot food to eat. I pray for people out looking for jobs Lord please provide for those families. Please protect all the babies growing in their mommys bellies waiting to come out Lord grow them to full term and keep them healthy, be with the moms that have crazy hormones and alot to think about, direct them to where you want them.
I Love you Lord and dedicate this day to you. ~Amen~
